The Institute for Integrative Nutrition

Institute for Integrative NutritionDuring my training at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition’s (IIN), I studied all the major dietary theories, practical lifestyle management techniques, and innovative coaching methods with some of the world’s top health and wellness experts. My teachers included Dr. Andrew Weil, Director of the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine; Dr. Deepak Chopra, leader in the field of mind-body medicine; Dr. David Katz, Director of Yale University’s Prevention Research Center; Dr. Walter Willett, Chair of Nutrition at Harvard University;and many other leading researchers and nutrition authorities.

My education equipped me with extensive knowledge in holistic nutrition, health coaching, and preventive health. Drawing on these skills and my knowledge of different dietary theories, I work with clients to help them make lifestyle changes that produce real and lasting results.

To me the best thing about IIN is their theory of “bio-individuality”.  That is, in a nutshell, every person has their own unique journey with food.  Personally I may feel best eating the Paleo way, but many of of my clients feel their energy and moods are most vibrant when they follow a vegan, plant based diet.  We have to take into account an individual’s health history, lifestyle, preferences.. everything… that is why health coaching is so important as it helps you find your way with food, and experiment with what makes YOU feel your very best.  In my practice I work on making sure that your eating plan includes all the essential nutrients to maximize your fertility, while at the same time creating your food “blueprint” that will optimize your overall health.

Fertile Body Method

Fertile Body methodThe Fertile Body Method (FBM) is an evidence based approach to Fertility issues that acknowledges the strong link between what is happening in our brains (the way we think) and our bodies (the way we feel).  FBM uses guided imagery and visualizations to facilitate inner change, which can positively impact physical well being and fertility. My FBM training enables me to utilize a combination of solution focused therapy, hypnosis, cognitive behavioral approaches and other mind-body techniques designed specifically for the purpose of increasing the chance of a successful IVF cycle or natural conception. Previous Life before Coaching

Prior to my health career as a Health and Fertility Coach I received my Masters in Education from Lesley University, and worked for many years as a 3rd grade classroom teacher.  After graduating in 2005 from IIN my career path led from there to working for several years as a health educator and wellness and health promotion specialist for large organizations including Con Edison and Blue Cross Blue Shield.  It wasn’t until my own struggle with infertility that I truly found where I could use all my knowledge and education to create a practice focused on women trying to conceive.  It is my deep honor to work with women during this time in their lives.
